These are the comments of parents of a 2009-10 AAP student: "Academy Arts Preschool has been a wonderful experience for our daughter. It has been a perfect introduction to the school environment for both her and us. She has learned so much this year and has had fun in the process. Mrs. Stump and Mrs. Sheets have been fantastic teachers and she is always excited to go to school. We are even enrolling her for a second year because we are so pleased with the program. I highly recommend Academy Arts Preschool to any parent" -Derek & Candice Warnke
Educators know that training young children in the concepts of movement sequencing, patterning and spatial relationships lays a strong foundation for the later development of reading, mathematics and other educational skills. Students in Academy Arts Preschool work actively in all of these areas.
We focus on building positive self-esteem, appropriate social skills and strong academics through a rich, multi-sensory, developmentally appropriate curriculum of core knowledge. Preschool is the ideal time to build vocabulary and speaking skills, introduce the basics of reading and math, as well as cultivate children's fascination with the world around them.
Developed from more than forty years of preschool education experience, this unique approach prepares students for a lifetime love of learning.
Our accomplished and experienced early childhood staff takes pride in our program and the excellent care and education that we provide for our families. Low teacher to student ratios, parent-teacher conferences, twice yearly progress reports and year-end presentation assure success.
Through art, music, movement and play, preschoolers develop school readiness skills. The basics of listening, observing, organizing and following directions are woven into every activity.
Fine-tuned motor skills, an important factor in school success, are developed through dance and art.
Daily activities include dance, music, art, story reading and activities of coordinated lessons.
